The present work is focused on the use of selective sorption materials based on molecularly imprinted polymers in the field of HPLC separation of enantiomers of biologically active compounds. In comparison to traditional chiral stationary phases, the molecularly imprinted sorbents allow one to determine the elution order of enantiomers by selection of a streoselective template. The review deals with the limitations of the use of the chiral stationary phases and the possibilities of kinetic and thermodynamic evaluations of sorption. A part of the paper is devoted to an overview of their application as sorbents for HPLC separation of enantiomers of some drugs and amino acids.
